Henry’s and The Jailhouse is an award-winning bar and restaurant venue situated in the heart of Belfast. Henry’s was transformed from the former McCracken’s Bar, whilst the adjoining Jailhouse was a derelict, disused building, before being restored into a contemporary new bar.
The building, which dates back to the 1770s and is located on Joy’s Entry, was restored to its former glory, incorporating as many of the original features as possible during the refurbishment, as well as uncovering previously hidden areas.
The stunning end result of this fit-out includes the truly spectacular Gin Bar, topped with white marble and fronted with salvaged floor boarding, bound in with steel straps and domed riveting. The giant TV screen is mounted to exposed brickwork, surrounded by bespoke metal cabinets that create a theatrical ambience in the area.
Each section of the Henry’s and The Jailhouse project was meticulously planned by McCue’s expert team that ensured the materials used not only looked authentic, but were as durable as when they were first produced.
